Description

This is an orchid genus of dwarf-sized ground. Tuber crops, round or ovoids with a size of 1 - 1.5 cm. This orchid is a heterotrophic species with new roots that grow from bulbs. Stems mostly upright with 1 (rarely 2 or 3) branching

Distribution
Amitostigma Schltr. 1919, a genus that is found in the Asian region, comprising 27 species and grows in habitats located in the Alpine region of India, the western Himalayas, China and Japan to the Kuril islands.
